These were my saturday night project this weekend. mine don't look quite as delectable. close, but not quite there. apparently i didn't butter the pan liberally enough. 

they're still like eating sunshine though. i've wanted to make these for weeks and weeks - pretty much ever since i saw this blog post on the lovely bliss, and this weekend i finally did. i'm thinking it'll be dessert for breakfast for the rest of the week. they pair perfectly with coffee, and are best served right out of the refrigerator.

i have to say i thoroughly enjoy this baking on the weekends thing. i'll be gone next weekend, but i'm thinking the following weekend i may try my hand at red velvet cake. i've never made it before - not even from a box - so it sounds very appealing.

there's something so very fabulous about taking a bunch of ingredients, and making them into something so much better than they could ever be on their own.

that could unleash an entirely new train of thought, but i'll refrain.
